The flagship stone which established the James Barry sharpening range as one of the best quality products throughout the World. A continual diamond surface on the 1000 grit (15 micron) ensures that there is no threat of “snagging” or “catching” when sharpening small or pointed tooling. Unique clearance channels have been made on the coarse side to clear away swarf and produce a keen edge fast and efficiently precision ground substrate ground to +/- 0.005" produces the perfect surface for flattening chisels, plane blades and traditional stones. Plane irons and chisels up to 75mm wide can be rehoned and sharpened in seconds. Clearly marked grit sizes on the stones surface enable easy recognition.

The 8" double-sided leather strop (L8STROP) has been designed as the ultimate quality product for those who appreciate only the very the best. Hand-made, FSC approved and hand made in the UK by craftsmen. Two pieces of the leather are used (one on each side) to enable the use of both textured surfaces, one side (rough) for the application of the paste and the other side (smooth) to achieve the final polish. The Mirror Finishing Paste For Use With Leather Strop Microfine abrasive paste achieves a mirror finish after initial sharpening using a leather strop. Very fast and gives tools a super keen cutting edge to give clean accurate cuts. Simply apply the paste to the strop, rub to absorb and then stroke the edge to be polished across the strop until polished clean. The paste is 8,000 - 10,000 grit, and it can be used on a buffing wheel.

Original Formula Lapping Fluid by James Barry Sharpening Introduced into the woodworking tool industry 25 years ago by James Barry Sharpening, the lapping fluid was been used in the engineering industry for over 35 years. The petroleum-based lapping fluid is the perfect viscosity for diamond sharpening stones. Creating a bind between tool and stone allowing for ideal contact between the two.
